St.Paul's Church, Musaffah

General information

The parish of St. Paul's Church, Musaffah is part of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia, a territorial jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Yemen.

St. Paul's Church Musaffah is the second church built in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.

The land for the church was graciously donated by the rulers of Abu Dhabi in November 2011 to cater to the spiritual needs of the large catholic community who live in Musaffah.

The foundation stone was laid on 29 June 2013 on the Feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Work for the project started a few months later in August. The beautiful complex was completed within a span of less than two years.

On 11th July 2015, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurated the complex in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of His Holiness Pope Francis, Archbishop Petar Rajic, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Arabian Peninsula, Bishop Camillo Ballin, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia and Bishop Paul Hinder, the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia.
